The Committee said that the postponement is due to local elections to take place in the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) on September 21 .
The conference had initially been planned to start on 24 August but was initially postponed to mid-September.
Preparations for the congress have been going on for the last one month since the Hewler meeting which was attended by all political circles from four parts of Kurdistan on 22 July.
The Congress will witness the participation of 600 delegates and 300 guests from all different parts of Kurdistan as well as the diaspora. It is organized to respond to the call Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan made on March 21, Newroz day. Similar conferences have already been held in Brussels, Amed and Ankara.
