The Kurdish Institute tries to fill this gap by reporting on a regular basis through its own news page recent facts and events, both from the Kurdish regions and from the rest of the world.

The Kurdish question emerged as a result of the Turkish state's policy of Turkification through its denial of the Kurds' existence and subjecting them to cultural genocide. All the Kurds' objections to this policy have been violently crushed. Once the Kurds had been silenced and reduced to a state where they could not protest, the cultural genocide was accelerated using economic, social and cultural policies. By the 1970s the Kurds had been left with no option but to become Turkish in order to perpetuate their lives. A political, social, economic, cultural and psychological environment had been created that drove Kurds away from Kurdishness, putting it on the path to extinction.

Unidentified person(s) broke into the house of Jeanne Duye, anti-terror judge in charge of the case on the murder in Paris of three Kurdish politicians on 9 January 2013, and stole the judge's laptop computer said to be containing “critical” files.

The BDP and KCK expressed their disappointment with the latest “democracy package” and stated that this may be “the end of so-called peace process.” This is so not because they had high expectations, I think. In fact, they were not assuming that the package would promise some radical chances concerning political autonomy and Kurdish-language public education. Nevertheless, they were expecting positive hints concerning the future of the peace process.

Communiqué de presse: Known Terrorist Sahraroodi Accompanies Iranian Delegation to IPU
The known terrorist Mohammad Jafari Sahraroodi, who was responsible for the assassination of the Kurdish leader Dr. Abdul Rahman Ghassmlou, is accompanying Iran’s official delegation to the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) http://www.ipu.org/english/home.htm in Geneva, which ends today October 9. Sahraroodi is currently the chief of staff and advisor to Ali Larijani, head of the Iranian Majlis (parliament).
