In November 2011 mass arrests of some 46 Kurdish and Turkish lawyers took place in raids carried out simultaneously in many Turkish cities and provinces.
EFJ: At least 9 imprisoned journalists on indefinite hunger strike
The European Federation of Journalists, of which headquarters in Brussels, representing about 260.000 journalists in over thirty countries launched an international campaign to set free all journalists in Turkey. Also, EFJ drew attention on the hunger strikes in Turkey prisons.

EU-Kurds protest peacefulyl to support hunger strikers in Turkey
Several thousands Kurds from Germany, France. Holland and Belgium demonstrated peacefully in Brussels as sign of solidarity with the 683 Kurdish hunger strikers in Turkey. The protestors aim to bring Europe’s attention to the situation of the Kurdish political prisoners in Turkish.
Zana urges EU on the situation of Kurdish hunger strikers
The Kurdish parliamentarian Leyla Zana sent an open letter to European Parliament, European Commission and Council of Europe to urge for pressure on Turkey to fulfil its obligations in order to prevent any loss of life of 683 Kurdish hunger strikers in Turkey.
