Stay Informed

Quite some interesting information and news from the Kurdish regions – Bakur (Turkey), Başȗr (Iraq), Rojava (Syria) and Rojhilat (Iran) – is rarely, if ever, reported by the mainstream media.

The Kurdish Institute tries to fill this gap by reporting on a regular basis through its own news page recent facts and events, both from the Kurdish regions and from the rest of the world.

PEACE AND DEMOCRACY PARTY

TO THE PRESS AND PUBLIC OPINION, 31 October 2011,
Since October 24, it has been announced that there are corpses of 24 people at the morgue of Malatya State Hospital. A delegation formed by BDP (Peace and Democracy Party), İHD (Human Rights Association) and MEYADER (Mesopotamia Assistance Solidarity and Cultural Association of Families who Lost Their Relatives) shared the results of their investigation with public opinion.

The Congress of Local and Regional Authorities

The delegation did not and will not comment on the allegations presented by the parties concerned but remains convinced that an apparently systematic, massive and ongoing persecution of local politicians is undermining local democracy in this large member state of the Council of Europe, which committed itself to the values of democracy, human rights and the rule of law as far back as in 1949.
