The Kurdish Institute tries to fill this gap by reporting on a regular basis through its own news page recent facts and events, both from the Kurdish regions and from the rest of the world.
10 arrested as trial begins in Turkey for Habur returnees
Ten members of the group of returnees who entered Turkey through the Habur border gate in October were arrested Thursday at the first trial of the court case against them.
Ten Kurdish Peace Delegates Arrested
Ten peace delegates of Peace and Democratic Solution Group (BDCG) have been arrested by Diyarbakır 5th and 4th High Criminal Court. Firstly three of them, Mustafa Ayhan, Nurettin Turgut and Hüseyin Ipek, were arrested by Diyarbakır 5th High Criminal Court and seven others have been arrested by Diyarbakır 4th High Criminal Court. Meanwhile, a search warrant for three of members of the Peace and Democratic Solution Group (BDCG) has been released by court. These three members were not present in court.

Call to Cyprus Government to stop deportation of Kurds to Syria
On 11 June 2010, twenty-seven people including women and children, were forcibly removed by authorities in Cyprus, back to Damascus airport. They had been on hunger strike along with many others for some time in Cyprus. Others remain in Cyprus.
Spanish campaign raises awareness of Kurdish political prisoners in Syria
In late January of this year a letter addressed to the President of the Government of Spain, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, was registered at the Moncloa Palace, the official seat of the Ministry of the Presidency. The letter outlined the plight of Kurdish political prisoners in Syria and asked for Spain’s assistance.
Murdered Kurdish conscript Najm al-Din Hassan Daallo is the fifth victim of the Syrian army in 2010.
The body of Najm al-Din Hassan Daallo was returned to his family on 7 June 2010. He was born in Afrin in 1991, and had been stationed for his military service in the Syrian army in a military unit stationed around al-Raqqa.

Another Kurdish soldier serving in Syrian army has died in a suspicious manner. Since the beginning of this year 4 Kurdish soldiers have died in suspected circumstances.

But time and time again, they have been destroyed (impounded, set fire to and so on). The only thing they could not destroy completely was the oral culture of story telling and singing.
